McMenamin Engineering and Mantis Cranes climb Mount Errigal for Pieta House and Donegal Hospice

Mount Errigal

McMenamin Engineering and Mantis Cranes took on the challenge of climbing Mount Errigal in Donegal to benefit 2 charities, Pieta House and Donegal Hospice, that provide much-needed services in the county. While unsurprising that staff with a head for heights and nerves of steel, tackled the highest mountain in Donegal, their efforts exceeded expectations by raising €1,500 which was matched by the two companies, Mantis Cranes and McMenamin Engineering.   On a sunny Saturday, July 17th, the group of 20 staff set off to climb one of Ireland’s most breathtaking mountains. Standing at an impressive 2,464 ft, Mount Errigal is the tallest of the Seven Sisters and it was fitting that staff from the leading supplier of tower cranes and self erecting cranes, were rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Derryveagh mountains and Donegal coastline.   Following a quick break at the summit to take in the amazing views, the group, normally involved in steel fabrication and cladding, had to steel their nerves for the tricky descent with slippy scree underfoot. Once safely at the bottom and the challenge complete, a whopping €3,000 had been raised for 2 worthy charities.
